SGA Meeting

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

 Union 301 – 9:15p.m.

 

Prayer called to order – Stasia Ford – 9:19p.m.

Prayer – Kerrin Brown – 9:20p.m.

 

¨      Freshman Elections – 3-Way Tie

§         Run Off elections will run until 12:00am Thursday

§         Fox will let everyone know once results are finalized

¨      Induction – This Saturday 11/15

§         Be there (Chapel) by 4:15p.m. to run through everything

¨      Money Situation

§         SGA gave $200 to Jim Rossi

·        Still needs 5-7 people to help out with serving food

·        Monday 11/17 @ 9:30 – morning shifts

§         Gave $100 to Commencement Team for (Not) Happening Hour

§         How much will SGA give to Athletics for home opener?

¨      Tailgate before Home Opener – BBQ on either Main Quad or Haymen

§         Shifts run from 10:45 – 12:00 noon and 12:00 – 2:00p.m.

·        10: 45 (Setting Up) – Jess, Carly, Fox, Stasia, Heavey, Torch

·        12:00 (Work It) – Kerri. Pat, Petrucci, Phil, Kathryn, Jill, Trevor, Ashley and Sarah

¨      Basketball Marathon Committees

§         Recruitment  – Pat Dougherty, Dan Heavey

§         Publicity – Jess Wallace

§         Corporate Sponsors – Chris Petrucci, Kerri Slavin, Kerrin Brown and Emily Ermentrout

§         Food – Dan Bucher

§         Entertainment – Greg Torchiana

¨      Digital Arts/Logo

§         Will seek out Ashton Harris – DART Major

¨      Retreat

§         Drivers for retreat (2 vans reserved = 14 passengers total)

§         Fox and Stasia are driving their cars

§         Will get reimbursed for driving

·        Pini, Carly, Heavey and Torch

§         Fr. Frank will be saying Mass with us

§         Stasia will print out directions

§         Emily and Stasia are picking up snacks before hand

§         Will be getting name tags for weekend

§         Bringing games and movies

§         Leaving 9:30am Saturday morning and back Sunday afternoon

¨      Committee Reports

§         Food Committee

§         Academic Affairs Committee was cancelled for Thursday 11/13

§         Curriculum Committee will meet Thurs 11/13

§         Library – Any genres of movies that are recommended by professor – make not of it to Library committee

¨      President’s Minute

§         Basis of Retreat and what we do – Plan for Basketball Marathon

§         Thank you for all the freshman who are running and the affiliates we have after elections

**Note – Meeting on October 28^th was short:

¨      Retreat

¨      Induction

¨      Stuffed envelops for Tuition Raffle

 

Meeting called to order by Stasia Ford – 9:17p.m.

Prayer – Andrew Fox 9:18p.m.

 

Ø      Thanksgiving Dinner served to 35^th District

o       Jim Rossi talked about joining La Salle Ambassadors

o       Serving dinner to firefighters and police officers of district

o       Monday, November 17^th

Ø      Freshman Elections

o       Voting online is available, please vote and spread the word to all freshman

Ø      Check Presentation is ready

o       Florida State home game @ 7:00p.m.

o       Sum of $8,000 presented during half-time

Ø      Tuition Raffle

o       Everything is mailed out

o       Everyone should check their mail and see if they received it

o       Tickets are due Tues. December 2

o       Drawing will be held Friday December 5^th

Ø      Basketball Marathon – Chris Petrucci

o       Sign up for committees

o       Will have heads of committees going into Retreat

o       Money will donated to Coaches vs. Cancer

o       March 27^th – 28^th weekend

§         Separated different parts of Collegian, WEXP, Yearbook and La Salle 56 to critique each publication

o       Funding Board meets this Thursday

Ø      President’s Minute

o       Vote today in National Election

o       Freshman Elections are this week, please vote for that as well

o       Sign up for Blood Drive times and also to donate blood if you wish

o       All SGA members and affiliates – dress up in business casual for next meeting

§         Pictures will be taken for SGA bulletin board and website

o       SGA will be decorating a tree this year for Christmas holidays

§         Will talk with Grounds committees to determine exact location
