SGA Meeting
Tuesday, October 14, 2008
Union 301 – 9:15p.m.

Meeting called to order by Stasia Ford – 9:19p.m.

  • Pig Roast – This Thursday
    • Mandatory: Be there early to help with whatever needs to be set up
    • Wear your SGA Shirts
  • Freshman Elections
    • Everything must be turned in by this Friday 10/17 – to Jess
    • Can start campaigning when we get back from fall break
    • There is no SGA Meeting next Tuesday, just E-Board will meet
  • Tuition Raffle
    • Ticketswill be sold for 1 for $30 and 3 for $75
    • Tickets are due by Tuesday December 2, 2008
    • Drawing is Friday December 5, 2008
  • Logo/Election Campaign Contest
    • Emily met with Rita Dynan in the Marketing Department
    • Decided it was best to have this marketing approach for the spring elections
    • Will give a chance for professors to build it into their syllabus early on
  • Slogan
    • Paper was distributed; people would wrote down ideas of what SGA’s slogan will be
    • Will decide what will our new slogan will be at a later time
  • Induction Ceremony
    • Saturday – November 15, 2008
    • Chapel is reserved andaddresses will be finalized
    • Invitations are going out at the end of this week
    • Will contact: Gospel Choir, Masque, Administrative Services, Food Services
      • Stasia has contact with Dr Leauby
    • Will make program and layout of entire ceremony
    • Work on a new book for signing upon receiving you’re your SGA pin
  • Retreat – Following weekend November 22-23, 2008 (Saturday and Sunday)
    • Also is mandatory
  • Committee Reports
    • Library Committee will be meeting tomorrow at 10:00a.m.
    • Academic Affairs Committee will be meeting Thursday @ 12:30p.m.
    • Funding Board met
      • Discussed the best approach for allocating money for other organizations who are now coming to Funding Board for more money this year
    • Will be presenting the check (From 2007 Basketball Marathon) to the American Cancer Society @ the Florida-State home game – Tuesday, November 18, 2008 – Tom Gola Arena (Sum $8,000)
  • President’s Minute
    • Dean of Students, Dr. Cicala has officially recognized all the freshman affiliates
    • Jim Rossi came to SGA about helping out Ambassadors with cooking and serving Thanksgiving dinner to the Police Officers of the 35th District of Philadelphia
      • Great way to get SGA’s name out there to La Salle community and also surrounding area
    • Homecoming Barbeque
      • All should try and attend
