SGA Meeting
Tuesday, October 14, 2008
Union 301 – 9:15p.m.
Meeting called to order by Stasia Ford – 9:19p.m.
- Pig Roast – This Thursday
- Mandatory: Be there early to help with whatever needs to be set up
- Wear your SGA Shirts
- Freshman Elections
- Everything must be turned in by this Friday 10/17 – to Jess
- Can start campaigning when we get back from fall break
- There is no SGA Meeting next Tuesday, just E-Board will meet
- Tuition Raffle
- Ticketswill be sold for 1 for $30 and 3 for $75
- Tickets are due by Tuesday December 2, 2008
- Drawing is Friday December 5, 2008
- Logo/Election Campaign Contest
- Emily met with Rita Dynan in the Marketing Department
- Decided it was best to have this marketing approach for the spring elections
- Will give a chance for professors to build it into their syllabus early on
- Slogan
- Paper was distributed; people would wrote down ideas of what SGA’s slogan will be
- Will decide what will our new slogan will be at a later time
- Induction Ceremony
- Saturday – November 15, 2008
- Chapel is reserved andaddresses will be finalized
- Invitations are going out at the end of this week
- Will contact: Gospel Choir, Masque, Administrative Services, Food Services
- Stasia has contact with Dr Leauby
- Will make program and layout of entire ceremony
- Work on a new book for signing upon receiving you’re your SGA pin
- Retreat – Following weekend November 22-23, 2008 (Saturday and Sunday)
- Also is mandatory
- Committee Reports
- Library Committee will be meeting tomorrow at 10:00a.m.
- Academic Affairs Committee will be meeting Thursday @ 12:30p.m.
- Funding Board met
- Discussed the best approach for allocating money for other organizations who are now coming to Funding Board for more money this year
- Will be presenting the check (From 2007 Basketball Marathon) to the American Cancer Society @ the Florida-State home game – Tuesday, November 18, 2008 – Tom Gola Arena (Sum $8,000)
- President’s Minute
- Dean of Students, Dr. Cicala has officially recognized all the freshman affiliates
- Jim Rossi came to SGA about helping out Ambassadors with cooking and serving Thanksgiving dinner to the Police Officers of the 35th District of Philadelphia
- Great way to get SGA’s name out there to La Salle community and also surrounding area
- Homecoming Barbeque
- All should try and attend

SGA Meeting
Tuesday, October 7, 2008
Union 301 – 9:15p.m.
Meeting called to order by Andrew Fox – 9:16p.m.
Prayer – Dan Heavey – 9:17p.m.
- Freshman Elections
- Elections will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- November 4th, 5th and 6th
- Information Sessions being held
- Wednesday 10/8 from 1-2 (Free Period)
- Thursday 10/9 from 12:30-2 (Free Period)
- Friday 10/10 from 1-2 (Free Period)
- In the SGA Office – Union 119A
- Must attend Information session to run in election
- Elections will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Pig Roast
- Senators and Affiliates will help set up for event
- Will delegate at next meeting everyone’s location and responsibilities
- Induction
- Date is Saturday November 15, 2008
- Make sure Chapel is available for ceremony
- Have ballroom reserved, Dunleavey or Music room for reception
- Most likely Ballroom
- Gather all SGA senators/affiliates home address to create formal invitations and send to families
- Have RSVP done by first week of November to allow time for last minute replies and ball park number for food
- Talk with Duplicating and Jess for necessary steps
- Stasia has contacted former Lindback Award Winner – Dr. Leauby
- Meet with MASQUE president to reserve tickets for fall production
- Ask La Salle singers or Gospel Choir to perform
- Alma Mater
- Song of their choice
- Choose who will be delivering opening prayers/remarks
- Dr. Cicala has ordered pins for the ceremony and future ceremonies
- Meet with Food Services – Jane Watson
- Give a head count of how many will attend based on RSVP
- Prepare program and send to Jess to be printed
- Creating layout of ceremony (location of people sitting, how people will be announced)
- Have everyone meet a half an hour before ceremony to go over things
- Logo/Slogan Contest/Marketing
- Emily will have lunch with Rita Dynan concerning the Marketing extra credit for creating a promotion for National Election and SGA freshman elections

- Echoing your voices to the La Salle community
- Town Hall Meeting
- Pat Dougherty and Pat Terranova will serve on committee
- Begin 1st meeting week before Thanksgiving break
- Will be able to start any footwork the week after break and before finals week
- Talk about how SGA will market to other organizations i.e. fraternities and sororities
- Possibly slide fliers under people’s doors
- Special Announcement: Basketball Marathon Chair

- La Salle basketball inviting all east coast schools including Big 5
- Trying to prevent any inappropriate behavior during games
- Remember actions have consequences
